I've been wheat/grain free for 4 weeks

Time flies when you're having fun!

I think it helped that I was so busy. I traveled for business every week, twice to California. I also squeezed in a half marathon and a trip to Las Vegas.

I'm happy to report that the wheat monkey has released his grip from my back. I had a powerful "english muffin for breakfast" habit. Now I don't even think about them. I'm also not craving sandwiches for lunch anymore.

It's such a terrific feeling to not crave wheat and grains. I think I'm ready to tackle sugar.

Another wheat-free road trip!

I was in San Diego on a business trip. No wheat or grains touched my lips.

Baby ducks on my porch!

I've been wheat free for 10 days

and grain free too.

The last time I ditched wheat, it was a struggle. This time feels different, I think something has clicked.

Last weekend I completed the Austin marathon on a grain free diet. No problems, I did miss my post race bagel and coffee. I was eating delicious food from this place...

I wish there was a Snap Kitchen in New Mexico. All the food is prepared in containers for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts and snacks.

They have different diets, vegetarian, gluten and dairy free, etc. I chose the Paleo meals. I bought almond crusted salmon, crust-less quiche, mashed cauliflower, some sugar/grain free desserts and some juices.

I loved eveything I ate, Austin is very lucky to have a place like this. Snap Kitchen is also in Houston.

I'm experimenting with some recipes this weekend. I've made some salmon in my trusty sous vide machine. I'm making a whipped coconut milk mousse this afternoon.

I'm wheat-free from 7am - 3pm.

These baby steps are working for me. Thanks to protein shakes, an egg cooker and packing my lunch, I'm only 3-4 hours away from being 100% wheat-free. I'm confident that I'll be ringing in my new lifestyle on New Years Day.

The bad news is that I'm still consuming alot of sugar. On Jan 1, I'll use the same baby step method to wean myself off the sweet stuff.
