I'm over my cravings for carby, sweet things.
I'll be darned.
I gave up grains/wheat on Memorial Day. I gave up sugar on July 4th.
Sugar was tough, even though I wasn't eating grains, there were still lots of desserts to ingest. Ice cream and flourless chocolate cake, to name a few. I'm eating a couple stevia and sugar alcohol desserts. I don't overeat them, they don't hold the same appeal as the real sugar stuff.
I've been living on a mostly carb, sugar almost everyday diet for my whole life. I'm amazed that I was able to make the switch.
Besides dropping the extra weight, my hope is that my blood pressure comes down to a normal range. My follow up visit with Dr Gerber is on August 14, I'm fully committed to staying on his low carb diet. I'm eating alot of cream and cheese. After the appointment, I'm hoping I can stop counting carbs and just follow the Wheat Belly guidelines outlined in the book.
