I think it helped that I was so busy. I traveled for business every week, twice to California. I also squeezed in a half marathon and a trip to Las Vegas.
I'm happy to report that the wheat monkey has released his grip from my back. I had a powerful "english muffin for breakfast" habit. Now I don't even think about them. I'm also not craving sandwiches for lunch anymore.
It's such a terrific feeling to not crave wheat and grains. I think I'm ready to tackle sugar.
Hamburger in a bowl. I filled the bottom with lettuce, added ground beef and topped it with tomatoes, avocados and onions.
When I eat my meal from a bowl, I don't miss the bread. I think I'll eat the majority of my meals at home in bowls. At least until my wheat cravings are totally kicked to the curb.
In other news, my knee still hurts like all get out. I haven't done any exercise all week. This afternoon husband and I are going for a short hike. If I have problems, I'm going to have to schedule a doctors appointment. I hate going to the doctor, I hope my knee will fix itself.
For the past couple days my knee has been stiff and sore. In an effort to not make it worse, I switched to the half marathon. It's a good thing I did so, I'm not sure my knee would have held up. I may have ended up in a crumpled heap of despair around mile 20.
The photo above is yesterday's tasty dinner from Burger Lounge. Grass fed hamburger with no bun and half a vegetable salad.
Here's my finishers medal and post race meal. Lara Bar and cherries. And a big cup of coffee!
This evening I'm headed to Las Vegas for a couple days. No free WiFi (suck it Caesars!) so I won't be posting until I'm home on Tuesday.
